Collaboration with International Osteoporosis Foundation

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) functions as a global alliance of individuals and organizations concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and musculoskeletal diseases bone disease.

The goal of the foundation is to increase the early detection of osteoporosis and related musculoskeletal diseases, as well as to improve the treatment of these conditions through international collaboration among national healthcare systems and governments.

 

Members of IOF are divided into a committee of National Societies (CNS), a Committee of Scientific Advisors (CSA), and a Committee of Corporate Advisors (CCA).

Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute has been an active member of IOF, since 2002.EMRI has been involved in raising public awareness and improving professional education by different means such as organizing national ad international events, establishment of Osteoporosis Research Center within the institute.

The CSA is one of the core memberships committees. Membership to this committee of dedicated professionals is based on scientific merit and offers the opportunity to participate in IOF working groups and multinational research projects.

As a result of his scientific achievements, Dr. Larijani, the director and scientific officer of the EMRI, is elected as CSA member in the Committee of Scientific Advisors election.
