On behalf of the faculty, staff and fellows, and researchers of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute, I wish to welcome you to our updated web site.

As the highest ranking Iranian institute for research, teaching, and training in endocrinology, the EMRI vigorously pursues its mission to provide the foundation needed for advancing knowledge about endocrinology and other related subjects where disciplines intersect and interdisciplinary advances are made.

The EMRI commenced its research activities on a very small scale at the endocrinology ward of one of teaching hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1993, soon to be officially recognized as the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Center of the same University. Due to the commitment of its academics and staff to professionalism and their relentless efforts, the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research institute (EMRC) was promoted to the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute (EMRI) in 2010; and once again, in 2012, it was promoted to the highest possible status of a research institute in Islamic Republic of Iran.

Today, 20 year later, EMRI is not only of the highest status of a research center in terms of organizational structure , but also is the highest ranking in the country in terms of academic output and citation indices. The Institute has even most effectively contributed to elevation of the ranking of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, a fact that we are all proud of.

This multi-disciplinary biomedical and clinical research institute looks forward to expanding capacity for basic, clinical, and translational research on diabetes and metabolic disorders. Any offer of assistance, partnership, or collaboration which could assist us to achieve our goal is warmly welcomed. We wish to express our sincere willingness to provide service to research centers, universities, and organizations with similar interests all around the world, specifically, countries in the region.
